The warmest welcome to our first newsletter The Rising is a new festival bought together by a few friends who met helping at another festival. We were determined not to consign Magical Sounds to history and have come together to bring an annual small festival with the aim of keeping it small and affordable.
We are delighted to have been introduced by a good friend to Kibblestone Scout Camp where there is plenty of fantastic infrastructure already in place including permanent toilets, showers, washing up facilities and with that has enabled us to keep our ticket prices as low as possible. The site is beautiful and spread over 98 acres and has plenty pretty spaces to visit and enjoy.
We want to embrace our setting and incorporated a vast array of activities including abseiling, rock climbing, archery, axe throwing and lots more. This will be in addition to a free children marquee hosted in our small but beautiful arena. In addition to Magical Sounds, we have a live outdoor stage aptly named Cub Lair and a small acoustic stage housed in a marquee called Last Outpost.
We have a handful of street food vendors who are carefully being selected by quality and price. Our bar will offer the best local ales, ciders, excellent selection on non-alcoholic drinks and good wine.
The first acts to be announced are Death of Guitar Pop, Dub Pistols, Loonaloop, Magical Sounds Headliner TBA, Banco De Gaia, Subgiant, Brian Stone & the Masters of None, 3 Daft Monkeys, Jemma Johnson, True Deceivers, Spacehopper, Glowbones, Ed Tangent, Clumsy, Templehead, Magic Lantern, Prognosis and Indigo Herder.
Activities
Most activities are subject to an entry cost for the activity, advance booking via Ticketsellers for your given slot is recommended. The Rising will provide a wide range of adventurous activities to suit groups of all ages and abilities. Every experience aims to inspire people to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, and a positive approach to life, whilst creating amazing memories. Most group sizes are between 8 and 12 persons only. All activities are for 60 minutes which includes full professional tutoring.
